Trustees’ Award for Commercial Rehabilitation

Homeowner:

Brian Lewis

Team Award:

This Award recognizes the PRESERVATION and REHABILITATION of a Commercial building.

“The Trustees’ Award for Commercial Rehabilitation” for the simple rehabilitation of this vernacular Colonial Revival style building, preserving the  original brickwork of the three brick piers and stepped parapet, while restoring the original storefront openings.

This single story building was built in 1939 to house a commercial establishment and a restaurant, each with a central door flanked by show-windows. Now converted to a single restaurant, the new windows reflect the original storefront openings and the original brickwork suggests the planned Colonial Revival style of the street.
