About
OUR MISSION
The New Canaan Preservation Alliance Inc. was formed in 2007 as a 501(c)(3) organization in response to rising concerns over the rapid disappearance of the town's historic built and natural environments
These memorable features—older houses and neighborhoods, venerable trees, rambling stone walls and rural vistas—which so easily can be taken for granted, contribute to our local identity, to our high quality of life and to our property values.
Working with all organizations and citizens who share our views, the Alliance seeks to encourage sensitive growth through the identification, evaluation and protection of the irreplaceable characteristics of our town that have made it so appealing over the years.
We will not compete with or displace the work of other fine organizations in New Canaan of which you may be a member. What makes our mission unique is that we are pursuing an active and comprehensive preservation agenda unencumbered by other responsibilities and commitments.
